Interview express : Maryline Boussenard
Could you tell us a bit about your education and previous experiences?
I have a Master degree in English Language Linguistics and Didactics, a D.E.A. in Language Sciences (Université de Strasbourg) and I started a PhD in Linguistics and Translation (Université de Montréal).
Previously, I have been Principal for seven years at the Academie de Toulouse. Before that I have been primary school teacher and school director at the Académie de Strasbourg. But I started my career as English teachers for pupils, students (scientists) and adults. Then I worked as a translator for different private companies and as a freelancer in France and Canada.
How did you decide to become a school principal?
I wanted to evolve in the education system by enriching my experiences and understanding the system as a whole.
Why did you choose this position?
The management of school includes various responsibilities and the missions are as many challenges for the success of the students.
Why did you choose FISZ specifically?
I applied with AEFE because it offers the possibility of joining a successful teaching and educational network, of which FISZ is a part, as well as opportunities to fulfill missions in a multicultural and multilingual context.
If you were to tell students and families something personal about yourself, what would it be?
I am a determined optimist.
