KEY SCHOOL INFOS
Safety note
Following the tragic events of recent days, a security meeting was organized by the French Embassy. Although Croatia is not directly affected, the security alert level has been raised for all French institutions as per the government's decision.
Regarding our school and following the visit by the embassy's security officer accompanied by the regional operational security manager, it has been decided:
An information session for French staff regarding the Specific Safety Plan (PPMS) and for the first time, it will be open to German colleagues as well.
An information and training session for all French classes adapted to the students' ages.
An intrusion exercise in late November (EFIZ only).
A single entrance for the school: the main entrance.
A single secure entrance with video surveillance and a security guard.
Visitor identity checks (excluding staff): access to the inside of the building will be granted after verifying the list of scheduled appointments or, if it's an unscheduled appointment, after calling the school office.
Closed gates and intercom calls to enter.
Rounds around the premises.
The emergency exit stairwell will no longer be used, and the doors must be kept closed, only to be opened from the inside in case of danger.
Drop-off and pick-up of children will only be through the main entrance.
This represents the most impactful change, essentially returning to the pre-COVID situation. The sports field parking lot will return to being for staff use, especially with the upcoming construction as the informal lower parking lot will no longer be available. Staff should ensure that the parking lot gate is always closed.

EUROCAMPUS reading project
DISZ and EFIZ would like to experiment with 10 minutes of mandatory reading at 2:00 PM one day a week for all students. The day will vary each week. Students will bring a book of their choice. This initiative draws inspiration from the "15 minutes of reading" program and "Silence, on lit" (Silence, we're reading) in France, aimed at encouraging students to read.
ERASMUS Project:
France (Chazay-d'Azergues), Germany (Bremen), and Croatia (Zagreb) have initiated a project focusing on language exchange and sustainable development. The chosen theme is "The School of the Future." The goal is to form trinational groups that will work remotely to present a final project (model, poster, video, etc.). Mr. White and Ms. Brkic will oversee this project with the 4ème class. The three establishments are working to organize a meeting between the students as well.
Substitute History-Geography Teacher:
Mr. Laparre has arrived in Zagreb and will be present in front of his classes starting Monday until the Christmas break. Discussions with Mr. Geltzenlichter have taken place before his arrival and will continue remotely.
